BAZINGA!
Does anyone else edit a session and think it rocks, then revisit the session and wonder why you were so excited in the first place, because they are just okay anyway, and then look at that same session a few months later and fall in love with it all over again? I do that all the time. Did it with these. I love them now, and I wonder how I could ever have thought they were just ho-hum? We are our own worst critics though.
These were from a foggy day this past summer. I remember looking outside and thinking it would be so fun to go out and explore our back-yard in the fog (we were still settling in to the new place at the time). But there is always so much to do, and I knew we’d never even get dressed and out in time before the fog lifted, so we set to the daily grind. The fog hung around for some time, which surprised me, because anytime fog settled in the mornings in Maryland, it was gone within the hour. I simply couldn’t take it anymore. We were dressed and fed and pottied, so we headed out, all in bare feet. Oh those sweet summer, barefoot days!
It was so cute watching the boys tread carefully through the dewy grass, and how it took us almost an hour to walk around the edge of our property line. It’s just under an acre so it’s really not that big, unless you are a one and two-year-old (almost three) and you are exploring a new and magical foggy land. I will never forget this day–the day we had the most amazing adventure in our own backyard. It makes my heart smile just thinking about it.
I love that weeping willow tree! And I love those boys!! Absolutely magical photos, Michelle!
Thank you so much my sweet friend! I wish that Willow was ours but its the neighbors. They are very sweet and have said the kids could use their trampoline they have for grandkids. I figured they wouldn’t mind us posing by their tree then :o)
Love these! So moody… and you are so right about the fog here. I am craving a foggy session but it just doesn’t last around here! Hope you’re settling in to your new home. I know it takes some time.
Thanks Melissa! Hopefully you are enjoying some of the other perks, like warm-ish winters! We are still settling, but it feels more like home everyday!
